After
an orientation night at an SFO luxury hotel, youll spend the next 4
nights and 5 days on a mini loop of Northern California, where youll
experience Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, 49er Gold Country (Hwy 70), Lake Berryessa,
the Napa Valley, Knights Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley,
Russian River Valley, Lake Sonoma, and the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).
This tour includes all ground transportation, a chase vehicle with trailer
for your luggage, full motorcycle rental support, hotels for 5 nights,
dinner 4 nights, breakfasts each day, park entrance fees, and bridge
toll for the Golden Gate. There is no wine tasting tour on this trip.
Youll need to provide lunches, fuel, incidentals, money for alcoholic
drinks, and one dinner on Thursday.
Your tour starts on Sunday with a hotel shuttle picking you up at San
Francisco Airport and taking you to a luxury airport hotel where a welcome
dinner and trip overview awaits you.
On Monday morning a chase vehicle and trailer pick up your luggage at
the hotel entrance and a shuttle van takes you to the motorcycle rental
shop, where your pre-reserved Harley Davidson, Goldwing, or BMW motorcycle
awaits. From there, we head across the California central valley, into
the Sierra foothills, to a Yosemite gate hotel.
On Tuesday morning we head out for a ride through Yosemite Valley, with
picture stops and a short walk to Yosemite Falls. Then we head through
twisty mountain roads and gold country mountain highways, to alpine passes,
arriving in time for dinner at a top casino in South Lake Tahoe. You
might even have time for a round of twilight golf. After an excellent
buffet dinner, you can enjoy the evening gambling or take in a show.
Wednesday morning, we head along the shore of Lake Tahoe with a picture
stop at Emerald Bay. Then we ride through high elevation cattle country
to lunch at Quincy. Here we turn southwest along Highway 70, along the
Feather River, with picturesque bridges, train trestles and tunnels,
and sweeping river gorge views. Then we wind our way down through the
foothills to Marysville for the night.
Thursday morning we head through the Central valley orchards and farms
to the very twisty mountain pass around Lake Berryessa and into the Napa
valley vineyards, where we stop for lunch. Then we ride through 3 more
appellation changes (Knights Valley, Alexander Valley, and Dry Creek
Valley), ending the days ride by winding through the Sonoma county vineyards,
to our luxury hotel for the evening. Soak in the Jacuzzi, and then head
off for an evening of fun.
This Sonoma County wine country hotel, specifically chosen for location,
is within walking distance to 15 award winning restaurants, shopping,
antique stores, movie theaters, a wine tasting store, and night clubs.
You are on your own this night for dinner so that you can experience
whatever version of night life you desire.
Friday will see us riding to Lake Sonoma. This will lead us to more extreme
twisty roads through the coastal mountains with saddle ridge top views
in all directions of high elevation vineyards, rolling forested hills,
and river carved valleys, eventually arriving at the coast and one of
the best stretches on the PCH. After lunch at Bodega Bay, we ride down
to Stinson Beach, across to the Golden Gate Bridge, along the water front
through San Francisco and back to the motorcycle rental shop, where the
shuttle awaits to take you back to the hotel or the airport, depending
on your travel arrangements.
