This is a signature tour of Vineyard Riders.com, with unique routes and sights not covered by other tour companies and ending in a special wine tasting tour on a converted 1930s fire truck. After an orientation night at an SFO luxury hotel, you’ll spend the next 6 nights and 7 days on a 1500+ mile loop of Northern California, where you’ll experience Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Mt Lassen, Burney Falls, the McCloud River loop with 3 water falls, Mt Shasta, Lake Shasta, the Sun Dial Bridge, Whiskey Town Lake, the Mecca of northern California motorcycle roads - Highways 3 and 36, The Avenue of the Giants, the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), Lake Sonoma, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, and the Golden Gate Bridge. This tour includes all ground transportation, a chase vehicle with trailer for your luggage, full motorcycle rental support, hotels & dinners for 7 nights, breakfasts each day, park entrance fees, a wine tasting tour, and bridge toll for the Golden Gate. You’ll need to provide lunches, fuel, incidentals, and the cost for any alcoholic beverages. Your tour starts on Saturday with a hotel shuttle picking you up at San Francisco Airport and taking you to a luxury airport hotel where a welcome dinner and trip overview awaits you. Or bring you own motorcycle and meet us there. On Sunday morning a chase vehicle and trailer pick up your luggage at the hotel entrance and a shuttle van takes you to the motorcycle rental shop, where your pre-reserved Harley Davidson, Goldwing, or BMW motorcycle awaits. From there, we head across the California central valley, into the Sierra foothills, and tour Yosemite Valley. There is an optional sunrise ride to Glacier Point from 7am to 9am on Monday morning. Then we head through twisty mountain roads and gold country mountain highways, to alpine passes, along the shores of Lake Tahoe, stopping at Emerald Bay, and then on to a hotel and dinner at the north end of the lake. Tuesday morning we ride through high elevation cattle country and 49er gold country to Mt. Lassen. There may still be snow on this volcanic mountain top, but the roads will be graded and clear. After riding across the mountain top, we head to our hotel and dinner in Burney. Our first stop Wednesday morning is Burney Falls, where you can feel the spray and fill up your camera. Then we ride along the McCloud River Loop, known for 3 waterfalls within only a few miles. Next is lunch in McCloud, then onto Lake Shasta, followed by a stop to walk across the Sun Dial Bridge. After riding along the shores of Whiskey Town Lake, we finish our day by riding through tight curves to a small town below the damn of Lewiston Lake. As if your senses haven’t already been overwhelmed, Thursday is WOW day. We start with a ride down Highway 3 to Highway 36. Smooth flowing curves on ideal pavement with breath taking views for 100 miles. We stop for lunch and gas in Fortuna, and then we ride along the Avenue of the Giants to the Drive Through Tree. Then we turn west and ride over the coastal mountains to the PCH and down the coast to Ft, Bragg. Expect a sore neck and drained camera batteries from trying to take it all in. Soak in the Jacuzzi before dinner and recount the curves. Friday will see us riding down the PCH to an inland pass. This will lead us to more extreme twisty roads through the coastal mountains with saddle ridge-top views of high elevation vineyards, rolling forested hills, and river carved valleys, with a stop at the Lake Sonoma overlook, and then dropping into one of the most beautiful appellations in the world, Dry Creek Valley. We’ll drop of our motorcycles at the hotel in Cloverdale, where Big Red, a converted 1930’s Fire truck will pick us up for a picnic lunch and an afternoon of wine tasting. We’ll be dropped off at the tour guide’s house for a thank you barbecue, within walking distance to the hotel (so party on). On Saturday, we will wind our way through more vineyard covered valleys on back roads to the Russian River. Then back to the coast for lunch in Bodega Bay, before heading down the PCH to Stinson Beach. Then we’ll cross the Golden Gate Bridge, ride along the San Francisco water front and back to the motorcycle rental shop to turn in the bikes. A shuttle waits to take you back to the SFO hotel, where you can add a nights stay or head to the airport.
